The Pink Tax
The pink tax refers to the overpricing of items on the basis of gender, particularly products that are made to appear feminine. These products include anything that is pink, floral, and decorative. Yes, the color of your product makes a difference in price!! This includes the necessities such as hygiene products, clothes, razors, and body wash. According to a NYC study: on average, personal care products cost women 13 percent more than men. Here are a few examples of the price differences for similar products.
GOOD NEWS!!!! The pink tax can be avoided by purchasing gender-neutral brands or the male version of the same product. Unfortunately there are no workarounds when it comes to periods.
